unfortunaetly i have come to the decision that, my xps gen 2 (maxd out) as fast as it is, does not have the speed feeling of the xps gen 5 desktop when using it, i dont know what it is if its the hard drive or what, but i have decided to sel it on ebay and switch to an OQO (i know complete contrast but hey). plus ive been taking it to skl for 4 ish months now and im known as the turtle becuase of the size of my bag. oh and my backs about to break lol.

WEll its been very fun while its lasted and i thank everybody on the notebook forums for helping me when i first got it and teaching me everthing i know about my laptop today..

im not leaving the forums for good i will still post asnwers to questions i see fit. but just with no xps any more

You may want to visit the for sale section to get some proper responses. I was in your shoes mainly because the work I ended up doing just wasnt up to snuff with the xps2 and really the 17 inch lcd was starting to get to me since its so small as opposed to a 24 inch desktop lcd.

I would just reformat the xps2. You must have something configured wrong. With your setup, you shouldn't be able to tell the difference to a desktop, unless the desktop is running SLI video cards.

no kidding, you certainly do "notice" the weight. Glad it's not one of those 13-pound Alienwares
