So I just ordered my dell xps 600 ( ) and I am gunna buy some stuff to get the most out of my new 20" widescreen monitor ( (let me know if you think I used too much)) First off, I want to get a tv tuner, perferrably a usb tv tuner. Since the dell costs about 3k, I'm kinda short on money, so I need something that will work great for under $100. So what do you guys use?? All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you want USB and MCE compatibility for under $100, I think you're basically limited to the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2 or the Angel USB tuner that Dell OEMs (you can find them on eBay for $50 or so).

I've used the Angel, and it seems to work fine.

Yeah, I agree the tuner is nice. It be nicer if it were MCE compatible and didn't run so hot, though.

I don't use MCE, but the Hauppauge PVR USB2 is a good card. A bit more than $100 and it does have problems with some USB chips. I can't use USB external storage with mine.

100 bucks will get you a better internal tuner than an external one. Any reason you want to stick to a usb one?

I prefer USB because I don't want a bulky piece of RG-6 cable hooked to my laptop. The TV cable is hooked to my modem and PVR and I never have to unscrew it. I can also easily switch the TV over to the desktop rig, if I wanted.

Yea. I am going to use it on 2 different computers so I want it to be very easy to switch to the other pc when I need to.
