Thread Starter
a lil too hot for a sony vaio FS series notebook? I've been gaming for 4 hours...

I know laptops run hotter and I am a newb when it comes to them but I need to learn somewhere

No, those temperatures are ok...both are getting on the hot side but its nothing too serious, the mobo is rated up to 100°C (although if you get above 75°C (177°F) you should be checking your settings), and some HD's run up at around 60°C (140°F) after gaming. You have nothing to worry about.

That's in F guys. There's no way your HD is below 55 F after extended use.

MFizzel and popophobia...Do you use your computer inside one of those walk in refridgerators? It's not possible for your laptop to run cooler than the outside room temperature (which is usually between 68-72 degrees F). 55C = about 131F, and 65C = 149F.

Only you and the poster above you were discussing in C. That's fine. In regards to your comparison of YOUR laptop to the original poster's...HIS temperatures were referenced in F degrees where as YOURS are in C. In responding to the ORIGINAL POSTER and making any comparison to the ORIGINAL POSTER'S temperatures, we're making conclusions on too hot or not hot contingent upon the ORIGINAL POSTER'S tempratures. Without adding a temperature specific suffix, common logic would dicate that any temperatures discussed in THIS particular thread will keep the ORIGINAL POSTER'S measuring system consistent. It's not a difficult concept.
