I have reloaded many machines in the past but the i9300 is throwing some curves my way. Here is my config via my service tag:

1N8757KIT, DOCUMENTATON ON FLOPPY DISK, SOFTWARE, POWERDVD, 5.3.1012
1K3444CARD (CIRCUIT), NETWORK, MINI PCI CARD, INTEL2200, NOT APPLICABLE

I have loaded the chipset, video, wireless and network but Device Manager is still showing a"?" for a PCI device.

I have no driver disk and am using the Dell driver download page for the i9300 to get what drivers/apps/diags I need.

Anyone have any idea what this PCI device might be?

Try this, it may have something you are missing.

Gunr, Thanks for the assist. I installed the driver but it is still a no-go. In Device Manager I have the following:

? Other Devices
?! PCI Device

When I check PCI Device Properties I get:

PCI BUS 3, device 1, function 2

Any ideas guys?

Thanks ...

Audio?

Thanks .. but I am not deaf. The audio drivers were the easiest to install and I could hear the result once installed. Everything seems to work on my unit (video, sound, wireless, etc.) I just cannot seem to figure what this PCI device is (since I got no driver disk).

Does your SD Card slot work? On my 9300, "PCI BUS 3, device 1, function 2" is my "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller". The driver provider is Microsoft and the date on the driver is 10/1/2002, so it looks to be a built in XP driver, and I know that I did not not install anything special to get it to work. If you have not tried already, remove it from device manager and then detect new hardware, see if it sets it up properly this time.

Open up Hardware device manager, expand everything, take a screenshot, then post it on here.

Use PrntScrn, the key above F10, to capture the screen, then open up Paint and paste it there.

Thanks to all, another user was kind enough to point out that this driver (for the SD slot on the right side of the 9300) is automatically contained in SP2. For some reason Dell provides it on their support site for the 9200 but not the 9300, go figure.

I appreciate all your help ... next time I will request a driver disk.

... over and out.
