Sounds like the same system I will be Rockin. My system will be here Thursday!

I did however got the Cheaper Celeron CPU and then I bought a 750 off ebay for under $150 shipped. Already got that last week and is ready to drop in the machine the second it gets here.

Also looks like we got in just in time. The systems are now $200 more than they were even yesterday.

With all the mail in rebates I got the system for $734 Shipped. Oh then another $150 for the CPU so $884 Shipped. Pretty damn good deal if I do say so myself.

I ordered my 3200 the same day you all did! We should all be getting ours around the same time.

I ordered the Celeron as well. For future reference, how hard is that to do? Does it require a "pin mod", or is it just "pop the old one out, and pop the new one in"?

congrats on your new system!

and chet90si, it should pop right in as they are the same pin numbers from my understanding

Thanks Yang!

The BIOS would need to be updated to support Speedstep though right?

Mine will be here tomorrow, although I'm a little worried FedEx hasn't updated my status since it left Orlando on the 28th. How bout you Chet?

Mine is on the FedEx Truck for Delivery. Although I ordered mine on 1/20.

Funny thing is I work from home and first a FedEx Guy pulls up at 9:30 and I'm like sweet it's here. Well he delivered packages next door so I went outside and said you have anything for me. He said Nope and also said it may be FedEx Ground Home. I said yeah it is bummer. Then About 11:30 I get a knock on the door. Now nobody knocks on our door unless it's a delivery guy or the cops (jk). So I go answer the door and there is a guy standing there and is like ummm I think I have the wrong house I must be a street over. GRRRR Ran to the door like a giddy school girl only to be denied. Anyhow, still waiting for the FedEx Home guy to come. *twiddling thumbs some more*

be sure to post pics of the Fedex delivery person if you can... and lots of pics of the 3200, please?
Doubt I'll catch the FedEx guy except maybe walking away as I am workin in the basement and can't see anything.

I will take a boat load of pics for you guys when it shows up.

yep a bios update would more than likely be needed...as always call tech support prior to installation so you would not void your warranty.

Speedstep info
As far as I understand (cause I have a laptop with a desktop processor so it doesn't have this feature) it will make it so when it's on AC power it will run at full speed, while on battery power it will underclock the CPU automatically to save battery power, and then if you demand more out of it, it will give it more power
I could be wrong though

Mine too is in phase 9, makes me feel happy after it having gone back to phase 5 after being in quality control

You won't need to flash the Bios, as a matter of fact there is no later bios for the m3200 as of right now with Alienware. Mine fired right up when I slapped in the 1.8ghz CPU.

I thought the 3200 can only take 1gb ram tops, per there web site. Am I missing something, or is that the max they'll install on their system when they build it?
AW will only build them with *up to* 2x512, but the 3200 can handle up to 2x1024

edit: I've asked AW support, AND there is THIS
