so if you ordered from small business/epp it would say 9400
but if you ordered from home it would say E1705

then i'd preferred small/epp

Yah! Cause we all know 9400 is WAAAY >>>>> than E1705!

9400 > 1705, you get that much more performance out of it!

Of course if you convert E1705 from Hex to Dec, you get 923397..

So, in that respect, E1705 >>>>> 9400..

I do not understand, why they call it e1705? Sounds to me like a japanese roboter..

The 17 clearly relates to the size of the screen.

It sort of fits some of their other naming schemes (ie 2405).

It was also listed as "E1705" under Dell's dropdown list for notebooks, however, anyone notice that it's now no longer listed in the toolbar menu as E1705 or 9400?

yea well i think they will remove the 9300 soon it will be replaced with e1705

Why hasn't anybody questioned why this is in the 15 inch and below forum, when it clearly belongs in the 17+ inch notebook forum?

Not to mention...who cares what it says? Should this be a poll or something?

For starters, this thread is 8 month old. 8 months ago the Forums had a different layout, there was no core duo/solo section.

The better question is why did you revive a 8 month old thread that clearly has already been answered?
