Some general information regarding the CX7

Thread Starter
I was flirting around with the idea of selling my XPS Gen 2 w/ the 7800 Go GTX and was looking at the Clevo-based notebooks from Sager and Hypersonic PC. For those of you who have the CX7, I have a few questions for you:

- What is the maximum battery life you have attained from your laptop out of regular usage (non-gaming)? What about during gaming?

- How does the SRS sound quality compare to that of the Dells, like the XPS and 9300? I assume it's better than any 2 speaker laptop setup.

- How is the durability of the notebook itself? Does it scratch easy, as it does with the XPS?

- Is the built in camera useful? Is it moveable?

- I've noticed threads regarding issues with the wireless connectivity. Do you have any?

- Have you used their regular and accidental warranty and what was the experience like? Dell's is pretty quick.

Thanks for the time.

I owned the Inspiron 8100 and had to deal with Dell on getting replacement parts (hard drives) in the past. My dealings with Hypersonic have been similar. I received the replacements pretty quick - relatively speaking since I was using the military postal system. In the case of Hypersonic sending me something, it has been a noisy dvd drive (they painted and shipped a second for no cost) and a failed hard drive.

That said, I believe the warranty is good. As for the ADP warranty, I did not get that. My renters insurance covers that, so there was no reason to get it.

The camera is nice, but not moveable. It is positioned into the LCD screen casing. It is pretty clear and I like it much better than the iterations that were in the GX7.

The notebook seems durable, but I don't take it around a lot. It mostly sits next to my recliner in the family room. This way, I can game while hanging with the family. If I want to do serious gaming and people are around, I go to my office downstairs.

Not sure how to compare the sound - but I am not a fan of it and it is 2 speaker as well. With head phones or speakers, I don't have a problem. But by itself - I am not impressed.

I purchased the 108mbps wireless option and it has been working quite well. for my gaming needs and surfing needs. Very good signal and connection. It is not always excellent, but that may be due to my house and equipment locations.

I can't answer on the battery situation - as I have never used it on the battery. Sorry.

Good luck!
