After getting upset that I didn't pull the trigger on the previous $750 off $1999 deal in early January, and henceforth missing out on a 9300 with UXGA and the 6800 straight from Dell, I decided to give eBay a look.
I've had very good luck with eBay in the past, I've bought numerous small things and even a DLP TV, and never been ripped off. I saw an auction (#6841857724) that listed just about everything I wanted, save for the 9 cell battery, for $1500 + $60 shipping. This came out to just about what the system would have cost me straight from Dell, but also included a 3 year warranty! It was also described as sealed in box; an unwanted x-mas gift.
I hemmed and hawed for about a half hour and hit buy-it-now. Good communication with the seller and exactly one week later it was in my hands, exactly as described.
To those of you who want UXGA and a 6800 without having to step up to 9400/E1705 prices, check eBay!
Just remember to thoroughly check the seller. My seller had 100% positive feedback over 125ish auctions, and feedback was left for HIM by people with many positive feedback themselves.
