Unfortunately you can only pick THAT particular processor, not a faster one.
I'll be upgrading the memory to 2 gig of the 533mhz DDR2 myself
Here is my main question...
Do you think that laptop with the 1.67 ghz proc. (which I know is rated similar to a 2.8ghz desktop equiv) 2 gig of ram, 7200 rpm HD, and the Geforce 7800 Go processor going to be faster than my current setup?
3.0 P4 w/HT
1 GIG dual-channel
WD 80gb 7200 rpm 8mb cache HD
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro
I use my system 90% for games and the other 10% is for internet surfing. I have been trying my hardest to find info on what exact specs this 7800 GO has. I'm pretty confident that the 7800 go would be a good deal faster than my 9800 pro (which still does a damn good job of playing most games). The main concern I have is the processor. Can that lower end processor really handle what is out there and what is coming out down the road? If the laptop has at least a marginal increase in performance over my desktop computer I'm pulling the trigger just for that FP2405. If I'll be losing processing power then I'll just stick with what I have.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
