5720 intel wireless antanae?(sp?)

Hello,
I heard of some people having problems with their wireless card in the 5720 with signal strength. Some people say its because sager didn't hook up the antannae to anything. How do I know if my 5720 wireless antannae is hooked up??? My signal strength fluctuates 24mps to 38mps. thank you!!!

To know if the antenna is plugged you would have to open the bottom of the laptop. It is visible right away if you know how a mini-PCI card looks like.

But if you are getting 24 ~ 38 and you are not very close to the access point/router, then I guess you are ok.

Check your hardware manager, and configure your card to max performance. This helps lots!

First I would just take the machine and place it right smack next to the gateway / router and see the signal strength there. If it is solid there then you have no issues. If not then make sure you have the latest compatible drivers for the wireless mini pci card. Then flip it over and open up the middle panel and you will see the mini pci card right off the bat down towards the front center of the case with the wires leading from it and snaking around the insides. Drivers can make a HUGE difference with performance of network products. You shoudl check drivers before seeing if an antennae is attached.
