8790 HD Problem.

After RMAing my 8790 my first time due to artifacting from the VGA video, no the artifacting is not caused by your graphics card but a faulty vga which was replaced on it but anyway after that disaster was fixed and I was able to game on.. with no artifacting now I believe my hd is on it's last days with very slow loading after doing a hd wipe, full format on it fresh copy windows still loads slow.. So im assuming my HD is on it's last days unless other people would know a way around this.. But my HD light in it's young days would flicker 5,000 times a second or it seemed like it :P but now it does long pauses of light due to loading so it must be going away.. Any HD anyone can help me with that could compatible with my old one.. it's a 2.5 am I right.

2.5" notebook drive. Fairly standard. You can't screw it up, really, unless you get an SATA drive (don't think those'll work).

www.newegg.com is my recommendation as they're fairly cheap and definitely reliable.

I've also bought from Buy.com several times and had nothing but good experiences so far:

Might want to Google for a HD utility (or go to the homepage of the one that you've got- I'm imagining it's a Hitachi) and try that out. See if you can't squeeze a little extra life out of it. Maybe you've got some bad sectors (just a guess- I don't know). Probably best to get a new drive, but if you can get that one squared away, you can at least stick it in your 2nd drive bay (if you've got a bracket).
