Good find! It will be very interesting to see if an XPS revision is part of the new lineup.

I woudln't doubt it at all. The M170's taken a pretty big price drop. It was pretty consistent at 2399 before any coupons etc and now is sitting pretty at 1999.

I hope they do it son. I can hold out until May 2006 to do my purchase, so I'm hoping to have a nice selection to go from. An XPS Core Duo with an nice 7800 gtx or perhaps a x1600 would be nice !

i wonder if there is any chance there will be a smaller (say 15.4") model that still uses the nvidia 7800. I would be interested in a Dell that can compete in size and power to the new acer 8204

Sounds like the e1505 (from the leaked Dell list) is in that category, but I can't recall what the graphics card options for it was...

lets hope they can cram all that power into a smaller (and lighter) box than the 9300

Weight doesn't matter to me...IT'S THE RAW POWER THAT MATTERS!
I doubt any laptop in the foreseeable future will lose weight unless the raw material for the conventional body/chassis (aluminum, steel, plastic) is replaced by space age materials like carbon fiber or even titanium. It’s just a matter of time before carbon fiber production costs are comparative to older materials. I can’t wait to have the ability to build or even purchase a carbon fiber chassis for my Mitsubishi evolution. A 300 whp, 2800lb, awd, track machine!!!! HKS!!! Woot! Woot!

Are you kidding - with each generation there are improvements in weight. The XPS GEN 2 has a larger display than its first generation brethren. However teh GEN 2 is lighter than the GEN.

what I am hoping for is Dell has a new offering to compete with the 15" sized (and 6 pound) Acer 8204WLMi
