Best Widescreen 14" Laptop?

I'm at it again. I'm looking for the best 14' widescreen laptop. Here are a few considerations...

1. Must be fast. Bonus points for an option to get the 100 gig 7200rpm hard drive.

2. Must be cool. I hate laptops that run hot.

3. Must be light. It will be with me almost all the time so it's got to be lightweight.

Please make your suggestions and if you'd like to add the reasons for your suggestions, that'd be great.

Dell M140 is perfect for what you need, but it is not a widescreen

I believe I've seen you post over in that "other forum" under the MSI MS-1022 threads. Seems a perfect fit...cool, light and quiet.

Fastest in terms of processor speed or graphics speed or both?

I remember an Acer 14" widescreen with a Turion and a X700 64MB. Other than that, there's going to be 14" widescreens with Core Duos and X1400s at least. Should be on par with a lower end X700 in gaming and CPU performance would be great, especially multitasking.

I found that it's not listed on the US Acer site, so I'm thinking... Asia only.

I looked at some Toshiba laptops at Best Buy the other day and I thought they were running kind of warm for just sitting there. What do you like about it?

I've considered this in the past, but I think the configuration options are kind of "conservative" when it comes to speed. Has this changed?

I've never looked at any of the MSI models. Any reputable dealers for this brand?

If you want the barebones only, you can try www.rjtech.com.

If you want the system built to your specs, try: www.xmeld.com.

There may be other webstores that offer the laptop by now. Shop around.
