Keyboard and touch pad lock up

Thread Starter
OK, has anyone else had this problem?

I have a Fujitsu Amilo A1650 and when it has been on for a while (few hours) the keyboard and internal touch pad stop working. If I connect a USB mouse, or start with it connected from the start, then the USB mouse is always fine, even when the keyboard and pad stop working.

This does not always happen, but it seems like once it starts happening and I restart Windows XP then I only get about 10 minutes before it locks up again.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks, Steve

I had the same problem with my Amilo A1667g, I was able to use the keyobard in the BIOS and boot menus but not at all in Windows, i solved the problem by resetting the CMOS.

If you don't know how then
1) Unplug your laptop and remove the battery
2) Remove the back
3) Look for a round battery, like a large watch battery.
4) Pop the battery out for a while, if you stick it back in to quickly the setting won't be wiped, not sure how long it will take, i'd give it at least 10 mins.
5) Put everything back and the BIOS should be reset back to factory settings, you might need to set up the date and time again to make the laptop work.

Hopefully the internal comonents should all work properly now.

Good luck.
