5720 + Audigy 2sz + F.E.A.R. = SCREEECH!! - Page 2

I'm not surprised. I've had high-end Creative Labs soundcards since the AWE64. Each one has had serious audio problems in some high-end games like Splinter Cell. But for me, it would be when I entered a certain audio environment (like that silence-training room with the chains and paper in Splinter Cell 2 (I think) on my Audigy Gamer).

I would suspect a conflict between the Audigy drivers and something else running on your system. Try disabling more processes.

there have been conflict issues with integrated audio/integrated speakers on clevo based notebooks as of late

Even tried disabling audio in Bios made no difference, I use set of 5.1 gainward headphones for gaming.

From what i have read it is connected with the issues of certain Cardbus Controllers being incompatible - look on the Creative website as there is some info listed there in the compatibility section.

The screeechign in fear occurs using headphones, laptop speakers and my logitech 5.1 system. Kinda funny cuz, i play BF2, cs:source, HF2, Doom III, installing COD2 as of right now but those games run perfectly. I'm guessing it has to do with some file software stuff i have no clue about that's causing a conflict, just as some of you guys mentioned earlier.

my solution is to return expensive card that uses your PCMCIA slot and get a USB adaptor. My cheapo Turtle Beach works fine, so far with:
FEAR
BF2
Dunguen Seige
Warhammer
CS
HL2
CS:S

and some others.....

sometimes cheap is good! I dont know how th input is on the 5720 but if output is all you need, get the TB.

try updating software from soundblaster and the FEAR 1.03 patch
