Isit possible to resell the WINXP MCE product key when my e1705 comes along? I wont be needing it, as i'll prob install with a winxp Pro i have...

I don't know if dell allows it or microsoft but how much?

i dunno, i'll be happy to get as much as i can for it.
i noe copies of win98 are still being sold on ebay! and companies buy it coz they just wanna get any cheap OS (legit) into their systems.

Technically the OEM license only applies to the machine it was purchased with. So from Microsoft's perspective it isn't leagal.

FYI if you install the OEM MCE on a non-Dell it will ask you to activate. Not sure if you can actually activate it though.

you can't do it, it is for dell machines only

well you can give it to me then, i'll use it on another dell...haha

The OEM discs will only run on Dell machines and the activation process blocks you if you tried to install it on a non dell machine.
