iMac duo core wih DEAD PIXELS!!!!

Finally after a delay of 3 days and after paying my airline a 100 bucks for rescheduling a ticket back to my country (Colombia), my iMac duo core arrived. This computer is beautiful and DON’T HEAR ALL THE NONSENSE ABOUT ROSSETTA SLOWING DOWN THIS MACHINE!!! You wont feel the difference and if with rosetta illustrator & photoshop are running only at a 25% of their capacity, then when the universal version of this programs arrive they are going to fly!!!because now they are running fast and smoothly right.

Let’s cut to the chase. After all the inconveniences I’ve had, my computer came with major DEAD PIXELS in the upper right corner. They were a lot of them, you could confuse them with dust on the screen!! I took the machine to the apple store and they said they were gonna fix it up somehow, priority #1. I explained them my situation and that I don’t live in America and how I had to reschedule my flight due to their delay in the arrival (I even payed extra for it to be delivered fast).

I think I’m the first customer in the world with a problem with these new machines!!

You just keep running into a string of bad luck.

After everything else, that is really, really unlucky.

Yeah, my situation is quite silly right now, but I love the iMac and I hope I never have to jump back to PC!!!

What is Apple's dead pixel policy anyways?

Don't know exactly, but the dead pixels on my screen were pretty evident, so they just look at it and said that they'll either repair it or give a new duo core.

if it's already paid for is there any reason they couldn't just ship it to you overseas?

you can't repair dead pixels other than swapping in a new LCD

yes, but wouldn't your system be repaired, technically speaking, if the faulty LCD was replaced?

Apple said that there is no shipping overseas. I just called the Apple store to see the development of my machine and the told me that they are going to replace the whole MLB, that there was no problem with the screen!!!
Dunno what is going on but I have to leave on monday!!!
It's funny people tell me that I have enough arguments to sue them!!! lol =)

This is why I stopped using apple products. Their customer service when I had problems was terrible. I, more than once, had to force them to give me a replacement when I got defective products sent to me. I'm sorry to hear your luck and I really hope everything gets worked out!

are u sure adobe stuff run almost as fast on it??? I've read that it takes as long as 3 mins just to load up photoshop... try overloading the stuff on photoshop to see e diff cuz if u do just simple tasks like doing a 200 by 200 pixel image... obviously u won't see e difference

just call up apple and tell them that there is a serious dead pixel problem on your machine, and you want a new one/new lcd. Apple should pay for shipping both ways. if they dont then apple should rot in a firey pit. just my $0.02.
