My XPS seems to run a lot hotter than my two friends' machines. I have already sucked out what dust I could from the external fan vents, but I have not opened up and cleaned out the machine.
Idle, my cpu runs around 67-76 degrees Celcius and while running a game like World of Warcraft it gets up to 93-95 degrees Celcius.
My GPU temperature keeps pace with my CPU temperature and is normally only 1 or 2 degrees different, sometimes hotter, sometimes colder.
The questions is, is this very wrong or normal? I have the extended service contract with next day at home service. Should I call and request service to fix this? Will opening the unit to clean the fans void my service contract?
Any advice or comments is appreciated. If anyone has run into this problem already, please let me know how you handled it.
Thanks.
EDIT:
right now with nothing running my temps are:
CPU : 67
GPU: 69
DIMM: 52
North Bridge: 52
HD: 34
