E1705: Batt performance issues + undervolting..

OK The ee1705 is here!!!!

SWEET!!!
Firstly, slightly better feel to it... softer click touchpad and nicer keyboard keys..

Ok, here's the thing.

Compared to a 9300, batt consumption is much worse....

Firstly, how come it doesnt support undervolting via NHC??

With the 9300, i can use NHC to custom change set the voltages. Now on the e1705, its a grayed out option. Does the new chipset not support this?

As it is, battery consumption has increased to almost 75 to 100% (seen from NHC's discharge rate)

Of course i guess a large reason has to do with the 7800 being a power sucker... the 9300 had an ati 64..

So anyone know why i can't mod the voltage settings on the e1705?

Hello sprockett - what is you're battery life, and are you using a 6 cell? Congratulations on your new laptop!

I'm interested in this undervolting business too. Tried the RM CU which i read about in a undervolting article(nordichardware.com) but i didn't get any adjustment possibilities with it. The main reason for me to undervlt it is to lower the temperature of the cpu and the comps. around it. I get about 1,5-2 hrs of webbrowsing with my 9-cell battery. But as i use it as a desktop replacement it doesn't matter that much, the main reason, as i said, is to get the temperaturre down a bit.

If you want more battery life, unstall the USB 2.0 drive for now. Microsoft screw up on this one

But doesn't it just suck power when you have a device plugged in, like a mouse? Or does it suck power all the time?

hmm communist, can u explain more how u uninstall the USB2.0 drive?

I am thinking it is definitely due to the power bug... it is UNBELIEVABLE how much more power drain it has compared to the 9300!!

i am getting about 2 hrs also with 9 cell...

I hope this help everyone understand the battery performance issue. We all have to suffer for now, until microsoft fix this problem or someone else
