If someone with a 9300 or xps has the time, can you run a full test at www.pcpitstop.com . Every single time I get below average memory performance. Everything thing else is average to above average for my system. Its not swapping to hard disk, I have 1.2 gigs of ram.

Got the same thing on my M170 w/ 2x1GB of Corsair ValueSelect RAM.

Description Results
RAM installed 2048 MB
Windows RAM 2048 MB
Total RAM slots 2
Available RAM slots 0
Max RAM module size 0 MB
Memory Type 1024+1024;DIMM,?18,|Synchronous;T16
Speed Rating 2557 MB/s (41% of 494 similar)

The page says that means my memory is 41% as fast as most people with the same CPU and clock speed. Not good.

Valueram? Did that come with the system? Thought they used higher quality RAM than that, unless you bought it seperately.

hmmm interesting indeed. I figured it was because of the 533 bus of the PM but you have a PM too, so what could dell do to these?

Or Samsung (like my memory). Dell have numerous suppliers and chop and change quite often...

Corsair's notebook ValueSelect has the same timings / performance as most any other notebook memory. Value Select doesn't mean sub-par...it just means its not made for overclocking, which (probably) won't be happening on these boards without major major mods. In theory, it SHOULD be at 100% on the pcpitstop rating.

Hah. Apparently the power cord came loose earlier when I ran the test for the first time. Is anyone else's power jack fairly loose at all times?

Test when not on battery:

RAM installed 2048 MB
Windows RAM 2048 MB
Total RAM slots 2
Available RAM slots 0
Max RAM module size 0 MB
Memory Type 1024+1024;DIMM,?18,|Synchronous;T16
Speed Rating 6324 MB/s (102% of 494 similar)
