I was trying to cut corners when I ordered my 9300 a while back and 60Gb is not enouch. (Edit: Forgot to mention I also have an external 250 almost full to )

How much hard drive space do most of you guys use on your notebooks?

I have a 60 Gb hard drive. If you need more storage than a external hard drive works great.

I have 100gig hdd, (93 gig or something in windows) and i'm using about 90 gig, apps, moveis, Tv shows, and everyday apps that are handy (setup files), and then you have all the normal crap + more installed (office, adobe, etc etc)

I'm using a 60gb hdd in my 9300. I also have a 160gb external for it and any time I need something, I just swap some stuff in and out. Works fine for me.

I keep all my movies and music on my desktop, just go through my networkto get what I need.

One 60 gb internal and three ~200 GB externals. Works great. Only keep about 30 - 40 gigs on the laptop at a time.

Manage your space, more room = more junk.

I just installed a 100 gb Hitachi 7k100, I hope I see better load times with my game from my previous Toshiba 5400 rpm harddrive.

Go to Windows Add/Remove programs, click on Components, get rid of the wallpapers, cursors, games, etc. cleans up a lot.

remove the word "hide" (leave all commas) from the pinball line in c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf and then run the components manager again to delete pinball (18 meg I think)

I have a 100GB drive in my XPSG2 with a 1.6TB NAS device for online storage of everything (movies, music, software installs, game images). I don't store anything on the laptop, only installed programs/games.

BTW, you want to talk about losing drive space because of the way drive manufacturers advertise disk space? At that size, 1.6TB actually is only about 1.45TB which means a "loss" of about 150GB. That's almost 10 friggin' percent of the advertised size!
