on boot get "pci parity error on bus/device/function 00F0h"

Acer TM 8000 woin xp prof

Am getting this on all boot attempts.
Can get to dos through Crtl C. when booting with recovery cd.
Need a backup utility for my files, so I can 'recover' (if possible)
system will read cd in 'Z' drive

Have 2nd computer to try an make a win xp prof boot cd.

Any ideas?
