AMILO M1437G Change primary HD?

Hello,

I just got my Amilo M1437G and want to change the primary harddrive to a 7200 RPM instead of the 5400 RPM disk that came with the configuration I bought.

I just received my Seagate Momentum 80 GB 7200 RPM SATA drive, and mounted it in the laptop. When starting the Windows XP Pro setup, it fails to recognize the new disk. I've verified that the new disk is functional by installing it on another system, where it works fine.

Even when pressing TAB to enter the RAID utility, the disk appears. But in the POST process, I can only find the DVD as primary master, and no harddrive.

I've searched for a long time to find a similar thread, but found nothing.

I would be grateful if anyone could help me finding out what I'm doing wrong.

Using newest BIOS version.

Cheers,

Ozric

Well I found the (simple) sollution. It was obviously the SATA drivers that was missing. I found a good copy of Windows XP that loads all kinds of SATA and RAID drivers on startup, and it worked like a charm. I kick butt. Happy weekend all
