In my experiance, everything that I've ever ordered from Buy.com has showed up in good shape.
Now, the last cell phone I ordered online, which I'm not even using anymore, I ordered from Buy.com with a $100 mail in rebate.
I ordered the phone back sometime around Feb - April '05. I still haven't got the rebate.
The first thing I didn't lilke, which was primarilly my fault for not reading the fine print, was that I had to wait 180 days before mailing in the rebate info. But I had to mail in the rebate info before 210 days. Sucks to wait that long but Buy.com wanted to make sure I still had the cellular account open. So I waited.
180 days comes and I mail everything in... nothing. Tried to check out everything on the provided web site and nothing.
After waiting a few weeks, 3-4 has already pushed me outside of the 210 day window, I find out that the rebate center had closed and everything had been moved to a different processing center. Buy.com rep said they would make a note of it, and I should re-submit my rebate info to the new processesing center. Ok...
I get a mailer from the processing center, sorry, you did not provide a UPC code
(which I know I did), and if I remember correctly the web site said that I provided the "wrong" UPC code.

Speaking to someone else at Buy.com said that I was outside of the 180 to 210 day window.

I've had frustrating experiances with rebates and Amazon.com, but nothing like this.
As it stands, I will never participate in a mail in rebate system ever again.
I will also probably avoid shopping at Buy.com unless I have a coupon or something that gets me something for less than advertised and less than I can find somewhere else.
That said, point blank ordering, they do a decent job.
Computer stuff... NewEgg.com. ... unless NewEgg doesn't have it, which is rare.
