Do NOT buy from Buy.com!!!

Before to make business with these guys check the negative reviews about this on-line store. They are the worst when it comes about returns. Check their Better Business Bureau file.
Be aware about the restocking fee for returns, even if the item is sealed.
Good luck everyone!

My other 8204 order that was through buy.com that says it was shipped overnight Fedex yesterday and should have been to me by today no later than 3:00PM still has not shown up. I am soooo glad I jumped and grabbed one from TigerDirect.com

Got Mine....

Mine arrived at approx 1:00pm

Was busy trying to make a billing quota for the week (self imposed) so I did not have time to play with it until now. I am writing this on my 8204 and it is schweeeeet.

Have not decided if I am going to reformat and reinstall the OS. but the screen is a beauty, no dead/stuck pixels, no vertical striping.

Buy.com came thru and sent me the details of my 2 year onsite warrenty extension and I was able to log into the support site immediately.

I will try to post a in depth review, but this weekend will be hectic, Superbowl and all.

Is the warranty through buy.com? Any info on that?

I have been doing business with Buy.com for years, including my Machine. Probably 75% of my business done on the Internet has been with them. Maybe I'm nuts, but I think they are great. The only one in this story that I have not done business with is -- vladoka_s.

In my experiance, everything that I've ever ordered from Buy.com has showed up in good shape.

Now, the last cell phone I ordered online, which I'm not even using anymore, I ordered from Buy.com with a $100 mail in rebate.
I ordered the phone back sometime around Feb - April '05. I still haven't got the rebate.
The first thing I didn't lilke, which was primarilly my fault for not reading the fine print, was that I had to wait 180 days before mailing in the rebate info. But I had to mail in the rebate info before 210 days. Sucks to wait that long but Buy.com wanted to make sure I still had the cellular account open. So I waited.
180 days comes and I mail everything in... nothing. Tried to check out everything on the provided web site and nothing.
After waiting a few weeks, 3-4 has already pushed me outside of the 210 day window, I find out that the rebate center had closed and everything had been moved to a different processing center. Buy.com rep said they would make a note of it, and I should re-submit my rebate info to the new processesing center. Ok...
I get a mailer from the processing center, sorry, you did not provide a UPC code (which I know I did), and if I remember correctly the web site said that I provided the "wrong" UPC code.
Speaking to someone else at Buy.com said that I was outside of the 180 to 210 day window.

I've had frustrating experiances with rebates and Amazon.com, but nothing like this.

As it stands, I will never participate in a mail in rebate system ever again.

I will also probably avoid shopping at Buy.com unless I have a coupon or something that gets me something for less than advertised and less than I can find somewhere else.

That said, point blank ordering, they do a decent job.
Computer stuff... NewEgg.com. ... unless NewEgg doesn't have it, which is rare.

Bad experience with buy.com

Just a word of advice . Try to call Buy.com BEFORE you buy. I purchased an 8204 from buy.com. Order was processed. I wanted to see when it would ship....guess what?? There customer service department is non-existent. This is why I recommend to try to reach someone before you buy. I personally refuse to order from a company with non-existent customer service. Just my two cents.

I have ordered numerous items from them and totally recommend them. I have never had a problem with them, plus with my buy.com credit card they send me coupons every month! So I end up getting a ps2 for 135.00 shipped, and $110.00 off an order of 1,000.00! They ship stuff for free usually and from where I am at (Texas) there is no tax. Just my 2 cents.
