Double w00t to you, Thidwick!
These g33ky groupies convinced me too; I am proud to say that I am now one of them! I also ordered the 5680.

Here are some extra special bananas to bring you a speedy delivery and a faultless pack of pixels.

Well I just received my new 5680 today and it works great. It is eveything I hoped it would be except for one thing... a dead pixel.

The "all white" pixel is in the lower third of the screen. It really bothers me, I know that I should just live with it because all LCD's have a chance (what 15% chance?) of having a pixel problem. It still sucks. Expecially if you plan to look at your screen 8 hours a day.

I guess there is the 30-day return policy. Has anyone ever invoked this for a dead pixel that isn't in the center porton of the screen. It seems such a shame.

Oh well I guess I'll see if I can live with this defect.

i'd return it, chances are you'll recieve a new one without a dead pixel

Thidwick,
While you still have the chance don't settle. Return it and order a new one. You'll have to wait some more but I think the odds would be in your favor to get one with no dead pixels. If you settle, a few months from now you'll wish you had returned it.

Ya I'm pretty sure I'm going to return and reorder. I just can't stand this "huge" white dot.

I have 30 days to return it right? Who do I send an email to for an RMA number?

Thanks for everyones support! I love this forum!

And I love my new Sager minus the defect in my LCD.

head to www.sagernotebooks.com and go to the support section where you will have an RMA button - fill out the corresponding forms and put in all the info and they will email you an RMA number within a couple of hours.
You may also request to talk to a techie and ask them if it is possible to cross ship a replacement. This might involve you giving them your credit card info (for their security)until they receive your "flawed" notebook.
Also - BE NICE and ask the person to personally take care to see that the replacement is perfect in every way.

Your mouth can take you a long way and NO PUN INTENDED!!!

Unless they have clones working there, I swear there is only 1 person working there
every time i got a tech phone call (a few times over many months), it seemed to be the same person with the same accent. I am sure he is a rich mofo though
