Which mouse do you prefer? I currently have the MX1000 Laser Wireless and find it great (42.99 ). I have heard so far that MX518 is the best at gaming, MX1000 is simi-good at gaming and best at everything else, and G5 is not good at all. So what are your opinions?

MX1000? don't remind me!!
Hate that mouse! hopefully you don't have the issue I had with the laser turning itself off when you lift it off the mat for a millisecond, was impossible to use it in games(for me atleast)

I havn't tried the mx518, but I recently got a G5 and it's awsome
Coming from mx510 I can really feel the amazing precision when you set it to 2000 Dbi, and it's even got weights to make it heavier!

edit: forgot, there are a few bad things about the G5, the middle button is really hard, and only one thumb button, although that's enough for me(for switching weapons in dod:s)

I use the MX1000 for work, school, mmos and love it. Ill use my razer copperhead for the FPS. I used to have a 518 i used for gaming while I had the 1000 as well and aside from the dpi switch on the fly i didnt notice a whole lot of difference between the 2.

owned every one of those mice and hands down the g5 was the best of the bunch.

MX 1000 (Bluetooth) because its cordless

i vote g5

Only think I don't like about my G5 is that it only has one side button instead of 2 like on the 518.

agreed, but i like the scroll wheel tilt

I have an MX900, MX1000 and a G7, always prefer the G7 (which is the G5 but wireless)

Mx 1000 is a tank which needs to be retired.

What do you mean WTF? The G5 is THE best gaming-oriented mouse out there right now. What made you think it was bad?

Best mouse i've ever owned. Another vote for G5. And if you like wireless, the G7. I have both, and they can't be beat.

Well, I voted for the MX1000 (which by the way is cordless, but is NOT bluetooth!! The MX900 is Bluetooth!!)

However....... I use the MX518 on my laptop, because then I don't have to worry about carting around the base and charger. I do however use my MC1000 on my desktop, and I love it!. I use it in games with no problems at all, and I especially love the way it fits my hands. I have these fat palms, and the MX1000 fits them nicely.

As for the G5, Ihave heard it is an excellent gaming mouse, due to the weight adding or subtracting thing. However, it only has the ONE button on the side, and I would miss the second button too much. If they ever upgrade the G5 with a second button on the side, then I am most definetly going to get one.

I also have the 510, and the 700, but my son gets the 700, and I don't use the 510 anymore.

If you get a logitech cordless mouse dongle, Media Play mouse dongle is the one I know works you can use it with your mx1000, which is what i do when im using it with my laptop or at work.

Ya, but ya still gotta charge the Mx1000 somehow, not like you can just throw in a set of AA's.

MX1000 is bluetooth when you buy the MX5000 desktop. Good mouse and I like it for general use. The extra buttons are handy.

G5 for gaming tho. Not perfect, but the closest that I have come across.

G5 mousewheel button is HARD, but the MX1000 is SOFT. MX510 had the best wheel button that I have seen, but no side scroll like the G5/MX1000. MX510 is only for emergency use when nothing else is around.

My vote G5. Go G7 if you want wireless, don't mind a dongle/charging station. Most reviews say you have to swap batteries pretty often. G5 is better for me due to the cord--which I like for responsiveness.

Use a BT headset with your mouse and the responsiveness goes to crap.
