Dell prices and looks

Over the last 6 months i havent seen as many good deals through dell... Im currently looking at ASUS dual core laptops.. They look so freakin' good. I don't know what dell is thinking, but the chasis on all dells are way way overdue for an overhaul onto something that 1 looks good, 2 has some METAL or chrome, or brushed metal or something....., 3) is stronger than the malaysian plastic they piece together (my i6000d is rock solid, but i want something that FEELS stronger.) And right now their pricing is crazy for the only dual core laptop they have.

some pics of asus laptops and yes there are a couple ATI x1600 256mb of ram on a 15.4 wsxga+ screen notebooks! ( YAY ). Unlike dells restrictions to keep THEIR price down, not the consumers.

The pic below is the lappy that has the 256mb x1600 ATI with a 15.4 WSXGA_ screen

another with the x1600 and 15.4 WSXGA+ widescreen

EDIT: and i just found out a 14'' wide screen notebook that Asus is coming out with lat-march is going to have the x1600 256mb card in it ! so for all you portable gamers get rid of the clunky xps 2 hehe

What ?! Are you on drugs?
The ASUS notebooks do not even feature the 17" WUXGA screens! Enough said.

It's all a matter of preferences. Personally, I hate the looks of those ASUS notebooks. They're too thin and the screens are too small for my tastes.

I would have gotten a 15.4" widescreen if Dell offered a good video card along with them. Alas, I settled on the 17" WUXGA E1705 (which I'm still waiting on, I'm not patient.)

An X1600 isn't won't even come close to the XPS2.

Those ASUS notebooks look great, hopefully we can see some numbers soon. Sure, they won't beat the XPS2 w/ 7800GTX for performance, but hey, not everyone wants a 17" behemoth. An awesome gamer in 15.4" or 14" widescreen form is a good thing, I only hope Dell follows suit...

I'm really suprised at how expensive Asus notebooks are for them not being a "major player" in the notebooks game. I do have to admit they look sweet, although the Inspiron 9300's looks are starting to grow on me.

Plus theres a growing trend amonst the latitude and M70 users to incorporate a 7800 into there systems which is pretty risky but the end result is quite wonderful. a 15.4 inch notebook with the 7800 256mb card vanilla or ultra.

If dell would release a 15.4 with a 7800 go ( doesnt even need to be ultra or gt ) i would have a reason to keep dell, that and i have a preffered account
