Why is it every damn time Someone talks about go-I laptops everyone talks about buying a sager buy a sager its just rebranded anyway. Maybe I am missing somethijng...

1. ALL laptops are Rebranded from sony to dell. They all buy ATI video cards They all buy Intell processors. They all buy the same damn memory. They buy all buy the same damn DVD burners...You people act as if this is the only damn laptop that rebranded. HELLO? I mean if you hate rebranded crap you going to love this. If you buy a Yamaha R6(me) the graves, handle,Tri force exhaust systems are all made buy one company. Talk about a rebrand. I have only seen one sager in person and I did not like it. I could really care less about that damn thing.

2.Like I said I did not do any research on the sager...I just made a 8890 for 3,400 bux so to me Go-L for 3,7XX is not that damn bad since I get the video cam the 17in screen bah bah bah. I think for most its all about options. I mean when you look it Look at how many options you get to pick from when going with go-l then go look at what you can pick on AW site. I was going to get a AW but damn They just do not have the OPTIONS. Pure ram and all that crap sure it would be nice to have its just cool to be able to HAVE it in a laptop if you want. Nice options and if memory serves they nad 3.2EE beofre anyone did...Maybe not sure.

3. Its real bad when AW guys talk about geting sagers. Bah that my rant

You did not like Sager's - you got the Go-L?

Isn't it the same?
Why didn't you get the Clevo?
Why is my butt itching?
What is a modem?
What is this thing I am holding - you see this?

1) All laptops are not rebranded by Sony or Dell. They are made from ODM's like Clevo and uniwill.

2) It is a fact that CLEVO is the ODM for Sager and Go-L. If you buy a Go-L, you are buying a CLEVO laptop . If you buy a Sager, you are buying a CLEVO laptop. With the exception of PURAM, each laptop should have similar configuration options. Both have 17inch screens, both have webcams.

3)The Go-l you are refering to is the same as the 8790 Sager, not the 8890. The 8790 is not up yet for pricing. You can compare the Sager 4780 to Go-L's current 17 inch lappy for an apple to apple comparison.

4) If you want to buy a Go-l, go ahead, nobody is stopping you, it is your money. Just know that you are paying extram money for OS tweaks which may be wiped out the next time you need to wipe your system. Just be sure to write a full review in the Notebook General section once you get it. Currently there is only 1 Go-L review and not enough is known about their support and customer service. The more info the better.

LOL Dumbest rant ever Trolling more likely...

A thoroughly uneducated P.O.S post that deserves no further replies...

Hey at least you got good taste in bikes.

Trolling indeed... The only thing that makes me uncomfprtabele about go-l was the reported, and then recanted article that the company was a sham. I know that the paper that published (I think it was the english version of the examiner) later retracted their statements, however even recanted I would be leary of sending them a large amount of money.

I was just trying to say that from cars to laptops to bike exhaust systems to just about anything. Every thing is rebraded. I did not say everything is rebraned by sony and dell.

I looked on the web page and did not see a 17in....hmmm

Its not trolling or ranting but a reply...

so you ask SAGER fans...on SAGER forums...and your supprised that people recomend SAGER???

BTW IBM Apple and Acer make their own laptops, they do not rebrand.

Hypersonic and voodoo are also Clevo. The reason people buy Sager is because they are hundreds less than the those brands for literally the exact same machine. You are paying for the name and painted case!

There is more to it than than Bud21...I know you're excited about your new Sager (its a nice machine) but let's not tear down another brand (especially one you've never owned) just to make noise.

We welcome any and all thought out comments here but let's keep it clean. Thanks.

The new Area-51 is no longer a rebranded Clevo.

This forum is for information in open discussion. This info is from me, and open for discussion.

Quote You: "You are paying for a case and paint"

Not true at all. If you had ever purchased an Alienware you would know the total experience involved. We welcome your opinion when it is based on facts. With that comment you are not posting with knowledge on the subject.

People feel very passionately about purchases like these. Much like you are with your new Sager. Remember to be fair and sensitive of other people's feelings.

Again, I welcome your opinions but let's not tear people/products down in the process.

Thanks,

-Craig

Craig - the facts are - you pay for a painted case and hype. The emotional aspects behind it may well be as you say - but the facts are the facts and when you talk about facts - you dont care about your "experience" or "feelings"

In fact...many pointers to Alienware's terrible technical support and even the sales process...what is the waiting time on an Area 51-m laptop?? There is no denying the experience of "owning" an alienware - no doubts here...it is something else and it may well be many more years before Sager takes on the mantle. But lets not cloud our vision because the truth is that Sagers offer better bang for the buck and you get your stuff before the "Fat Lady Sings"

Once again, I'm replying to someone that does not have first hand experience with Alienware. *shakes head* You just don't seem to understand what I am saying guys...

I've backed Sager more times than most of you have...and you own them. What I'm saying is let people enjoy their purchase and respect the fact that they are as intelligent (or more so in some cases I'd surmise) as you and have done their homework. This has lead them to believe that an Alienware was the best avenue for them in their search for a high end laptop.

Respect is earned guys, not argued over.

If you would reread my post, I never mentioned Alienware, i was talking about voodoo and hypersonic. I like Alienware. I just could never bring myself to pull one out and set it on the table in a conferance call.
So then you've posted the same thing in the public voodoo forums? You are in the Alienware forum so it is implied Bud.

-Craig

edit for confidence.
Craig - I dont say you are wrong in buying an Alienware...on the contrary - I would love to see what its all about. Great looking system and "snob" appeal if thats the right word

But this thread is about "facts" and not about "emotions" - think about it as "economics" and "return of investment" - you cannot claim a tax return or interest for lost "feelings" - there has to be something tangible - and in this case it is the hardware you pay for...not what surrounds it.

From that perspective - the Alienware is a waste of money...regardless of whether you have money or not...

I respect your decision...the economics however is not something I would approve of

Well everyone knows what happens when you Assume something. I think I made it very clear what I was saying.
