Bluetooth setup...

Hello all, I just installed my Truemobile 350 and installed the drivers, works great and synced up with my Jabra 250 first try.

My question is, is there a way to set it up so that say only Ventrilo goes through the bluetooth earpiece and game music/effects still go through the 5.1 speakers? I have a Creative Audigy 2.

Thanks for any help on this, I'm new to the computer bluetooth world.

It's doubtful. Most programs consult the Sounds and Audio Devices control panel, which sets itself to Bluetooth Audio (or Bluetooth High-quality Audio) automatically when you connect to a bluetooth device.

You can set it back to your Audigy 2 in that control panel to get everything to go through the 5.1 speakers. But to make only one program go through the Bluetooth Audio device, that program would need to have a setting specifying which sound card to use. Most don't, but some do.

In summary, the trick is to tell your program to use the Bluetooth device instead of the system-wide soundcard. If there is no such setting, you're out of luck.

Thanks, I'll play around with it after the Super Bowl.

Actually if you look in the Ventrilo settings you should be able to select either the audio input and output device. On my desktop I have all my system audio (movies, music etc) output through the Audigy card and 7.1 speakers I have installed, however I have my headphones plugged into the onboard headphone/mic jacks specifically for use with Ventrilo.

Hmm, ok I got that working but now I have a problem with when I turn on the Jabra it switches the Windows default things to the device rather then just the Ventrilo items. Any ideas?

hmmm not really, sorry. Changing the settings in Ventrilo shouldn't change the OS defaults which should remain the same. Mind you I'm plugged in and not using bluetooth on my desktop so its not quite the same. It should be able to seperate the onboard and the Audigy though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Yeah, I have it setup in Ventrilo and at least all the tests check out, but when I connect the bluetooth device it switches the default Input/Output in the Windows Control Panel: Sound Settings to the Toshiba Stack.

Its not a HUGE problem to switch it back but it is a bit annoying. If I could I would have my Jabra on 24/7 so I'd never have to do that but it turns off when in its charging cradle.

Thanks for your help so far, even if you have no idea with this particular situation I very much appreciate the response.

Use the Wildcomm drivers, I use it with Vent all the time and my nokia hands free.

With mine i dont have to change anything.. i set it one.. and since then.. i connect my hands free and it vent works correctly..

I was afraid someone was going to say that would be the best solution, I'll give those drivers a shot.

Ok I pair it, allow it to use the audio channel and have tried it with headset mode on and off and it will say its connected but I'm getting nothing to go through the mic like I was with the Toshiba/Dell stack. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
