Since two months I own a Dell 9300 with a Sharp (SHP13BA) LCD. I really like this display bur not the default color settings.
At first I played around with the nVidia controls (decreasing Gamma to 0,50 and Digital Vibrance to midle), but I found no way to correct the color temperature. The wizard only let's you correct te gamma setings per color (as I understand it correctly), but the settings don't seem to stick.
I downloaded Powermizer and selected the Graphic Arts 2.2 Gamma D50 color profile and desellected "write directly to pallette DAC". The latter allowed me to decrease the Gamma a bit further using the nvidia controls. Otherwise changing the gamma would loose the color temp settings.
The screen looks a lot better now (excellent even). The blue tint is gone and photo's look much more natural and with more detail. The desktop (I use XP's silver theme) looks very clear and easy on the eyes.
