Thinkpad T43 questions

Thread Starter
The brightness on my T43 decreases when it is running on battery. I couldn't find anything in the display options that would make the display run at maximum brightness when on battery. How do you do this?

A couple ways will work. You can manually change the brightness at any time by holding down Fn and hitting the 'home (up)' and 'end (down)' buttons.

If you want it to always stay bright when you unplug it, go to the ibm power manager (double clicking on the battery indicator in the bar at the bottom of the screen, or going to start->programs->accesss ibm->power manager), click on 'New...' scheme name, and make one that doesn't change the brightness when you go on battery. Keep in mind that the display is a huge drain on battery, so the brighter the screen, the shorter battery life you'll get.

You can also force this from the bios. But yeah, he is right, it is a battery killer. I would just recommend manually doing it and defaulting to better battery life.

You just press"F2" during ur startup while IBM logo is on disply , then u can go into the BIOS setup programe. and in the powermanagement menu there is a item can adjust ur LCD brightness
If u do this , ur battery life will be shortened in a larger scale.
The Battery current may reach 3A

you can dl the Power management driver off lenovo.com so that you could just adjust the brightness in Window instead of going to the Bios.

A much simpler solution that gives you move control.

Nope, non of the solutions above are the best one.

1. Go to ThinkVantage Tools >> "ThinkPad Configuration"

2. Click on LCD button (top right) and change the brightness setting :-)

This way you can change it back & forth any time you want.
