Which of the two would net higher performance? I currently have the radeon 9600 in my emachines m6809 and i can play battlefield at 1280x800 with pretty playable results, and my 3dmark 05 score is around 1200. I have seen the x1400 gets about 1600 on 3dmark 05 but is that just because of the increased shader performance? How would it act in a real world situation.

Also the MR X700 is a lot more than 30% faster than the MR9700. 43.6 FPS for the X700 vs 15.8 FPS for the MR9700 in Doom 3, and 24.6 FPS in Farcry UXGA res vs 13.4 FPS for the MR9700.

And finaly the X1400 is a low power variant of the X1300 and shares the same 4x1 core architecture, making it highly unlikely that it will perform as well as the X700. That said it looks like it will offer performance that is better than the X600/MR9700.

The X1400 is also SM3.0 and has vastly improved video playback features. So at the very least the X1400 looks like a nice upgrade over Ati's last gen low/mid end GPUS for the mainstream market.
If anyone digs up anything on the X1300 I would love to see it, Ati states that the X1400 is an ultra low power GPU for the thin and light segment, I am wondering if that means performance is basicly the same between the X1300/X1400 or if the X1400 has higher clocks, they are the same core arcitecture.
