I'm considering purchasing BF2... I have the 128mg 300x, 1.86ghz processor and 1gig of ram. Will it be worth purchasing? Thanks!

Get more memory if you do get the game. You won't be able to have video settings raised with that card but you can still play.

I can play it it mine well enough. 1600x1200 (i think) everything on low except medium environment, and 2xaa. Framarates more than acceptable, but ive overclocked my video card quite a bit.

it'll run bf2 fine if you have 1 gb or more ram. Also, a little side note, the ram isn't share since you got the 128 mb ati x300. Plus, the 5400 rpm hdd won't slow you down that much. I load a standard 16 player map on bf2 within 30 seconds unless I changed vid card settings.

sounds good.... im going to go ahead and make the purchase then... how do i test my 3dmark score... and what does it mean?
3dmark scores are a based on a benchmarking program called "3DMark05" or 03, or 01, etc. The higher the score, the better the PC but during real life gaming situtations, the higher the score doesn't mean you have better performance. Its just a benchmarking system to see how well your system is doing.

So far, I think i'm the only one who held up the highest x300 score in 3dmark06.. 464.. kinda low but its the highest i see in ORB

I run BF2 with low/med settings and 2xAA, Fraps shows a consistent 50-60 FPS's. As long as you arent a "full graphics only" kind of guy, the 6000 is absolutely fine.

What resolution is that at, Decep? Also, are you OCing your x300?

I run BF2 at 1024x768 @ high, med settings with 2x aa @around 33 fps. The 2gb of ram REALLY helps!

Nice ill have to get myself another 512 stick of ram.. I run mine low/medium settings with no AA, and get around 40 on single player, and 30 on a Multiplayer.
Its laggy at some points. But playable.. I woulda thought it would run better on a 3dmark05 scorce of 1868.

I run it at 1280x800 widescreen on medium settings and it runs in the 20-35 FPS range. I'll probably tweak a few settings down to see if I can get it into the 40+ range, but oddly enough it's playable where it's at now (I just wouldn't compete with my current settings).

I agree, 2GB makes a big difference.

Great... bc i have an extra gig on its way from Dell that I purchased with a 100 dollar online credit.. This means I will be running at 1.5 gigs of ram... if anyone is looking to purchase a 512 mb stick, I will have 2 for sale, so that I can throw an additional gig stick in... My 512mb sticks are more or less brand new, i got the laptop only 3 weeks ago. Let me know if you cats are interested.
