Only $2400US with a T2400, a 1440by900 screen (what ever happened to the 1920by1200?) and a GeForce Go 7300?? I really thought for that price they'd put at least a T2500 and a Go 7800. But it does look nice otherwise.

not going to happen this time around....I dont think I have seen 7200rpm SATA drives

I'll take 4200 rpm SATA over 5400RPM PATA

My first post on this (excellent) site. Thank you very much for all your information. I have been looking @ Dell XPS/e1705, AW 5700, Sager 5720, and Hypersonic. Stumbled today on Toshiba Qosmio Q35. http://news.ecoustics.com/bbs/messag...81/201170.html
This will be my first laptop, I need it to "do alot well," "not neccessarily perfect." I will be playing some games, burning dvd, music, T.V. This sounds like a winner, does anyone else concur, and any ideas where to buy from??
Thank you all once again!!!!

yeah two 80gb hitatchi 7200rmp drives in raid 0... the laptop flies with them in there, i would like to see the qosmio with a pair of 100gb 7200rpm SATA's in it though. that combination would be the fastest thing on the block for hdd speed.

Bigger hard drives, but it appears to have the 7300gpu - not the 7600 the G30 is suppose to have.

The GPU is going to knock this out for me, I know its much better than what I have (the 5600) in my current Toshiba; but I'm just sick of getting slower GPUs from Toshiba. This is going to be my 4th laptop in 5 years (all still working) and the only reason I upgrade is for the GPU... Leaning hard toward Sager and Dell.

I share the same opinion. I love Toshiba and qosmio line but the g30 is simply a rip off!!! Cum on .... 2x80Gb!!!???? cum on .... 1Gb !!???/ .... go7300!!???? cum on .... and a pricve of $2500!!!???? ...... huh ... no way i'll buy this model ...no no not without at least Vanila go7800 .... and of course new qosmio can not have the same speed dual core intel as apple or even acer!!!

Isnt 2 x 80gb and 1gb ram good?
And for 2500 all the things it comes with I think is a good price since it just came out.
its not a bad price and the canadian specs are supposed to include the 7800 vanilla....

also on the issue of the hard drives and the prices, my alienware was just over $3000 canadian with two 80gb SATA drives and a gig of ram, as well as a go 6800 vanilla. you pay for a quality machine. as for the processor my AW has only a 2.13ghz centrino not even dual core. but you know what if i was asked if i would buy it again, yes i would. the processor can be changed out, it is physically capable of any of the new core duo processors. it comes with a decently spec'd out processor already and if that isnt enough you could upgrade on your own.

anyone can put in more ram and all for cheap.

Do you have any site that lists it as a 7800? I have seen nothing so far from Toshiba or any retailer that lists it as a 7800 and if there is any hope it will get it I might be willing to wait.
