Considering FS: Dell Precision M70 + 7800GTX ultimate gaming machine

I'm considering putting my Precision M70 + 7800GTX 256MB machine up for sale.

The monstrosity features a 2.4GHZ pin-modded CPU (1.404v prime stable), 7800GTX 256MB (scores 6.5k+ 3dmark05, maxes out EVERY game as in 1920x1200 except for FEAR). Also has 1GB stick + 256MB stick, prime for upgrading to 2x1GB! 60GB 7200rpm hard drive.

This laptop, without the 7800GTX, costs $2720 ($3145 without Dell savings) from Dell's website. The 7800GTX 256MB sells for ~$400 now.

I got it last year in September. The 3 year warrenty (with on-site service!) is still fully in effect.

I'm thinking of getting a tiny notebook (as in 12"-14") and a SFF gaming desktop instead.

How much would you pay for it? $2500?

If its stable I could believe someone would pay that much for it . . . though im not saying its worth that much.

I believe there is a rule against fishing the waters though, so you may wanna be careful.

I'm not saying it's worth that much either, but I did spend 10+ hours performing the mod and doing everything

I put the $2500 so hopefully that won't be considered "fishing"

If $2500 is too high then put the amount that you would pay

How about a trade? My i6000 for that beauty!

What would a fully loaded XPS Gen 2 be?

This laptop scores the same in 3dmark05/3dmark03 as a non-overclocked, fully loaded XPS Gen 2. I do not have game benchmark scores to compare with.

It's a Dell Precision laptop, which starts at $1700 with the most basic components (1.6ghz, WXGA, 40GB hd, 512MB RAM). $2500 may be considered high, but $1900 is most definately very low. I may do 2k, depends on the situation.

Yeah you need to post a concrete price.

I did, $2500, but it's fully negotiable. If you think it's too high, then PM me and we will work it out.

I am not looking for parts. I need cash.

M70 now uses 60GB 7200rpm hard drive. I have it as a spare, so might as well put that in this laptop instead.

Interested in trading for a non SFF Gaming desktop?

Perhaps desktop + cash.

Really, my total costs on this machine is much higher than $2000. I'm selling this to benefit other people (as a favor) and also as a favor to myself (so I will stop playing computer games on my laptop).

typicaly no matter how much you put into a rig

selling it on a forum with people who know their shizzle, youll recive roughly 70% cash back of your own investments

so you buy somthing thats a grand, no matter how new, expect to only get 700-800 for it

Yep, that's the general lot of selling on a forum. Best luck would be on Ebay, where you would propably get $2.2K or more.

that's true, but many people do not wish to do the mod themselves (takes a long time, and not guaranteed)

I think 2500 is a very reasonable price for having all that it does have, as the M170 with a GTX costs about the same. However, I am at no disposition to buy it, but if I could I would do it in a heartbeat. Hope it gets sold to a worthy owner man!

Bump.

I have the M70 and I wish that I could have the 7800 gtx in it. I really like my M70. I still have plastic covering on it so I really pamper my laptop and want to have good resale value for it in the future.

It is a really good price because I bought mine for about $2200

1GB + 256MB RAM
60GB 5400RPM 8MB cache hard drive
NVIDIA 7800GTX 256MB GPU
9 cell battery (not 6 cell!) with 0% wear (that means perfect condition)
