How did you come by your log in name?

Just thinking; I know this is totally off topic, but how did you end up with your log in name?

Mine was a character I used to play in a RPG years ago...

I was young and thought it was "cool", but now I truly hate it. However, I've used it for so long that I have no idea how to go about choosing a different one... "Groove" really doesn't fit my personality, but oh well... No idea what I was thinking back then.

I've used mine for years and years sinc back in the 80s.

I stole mine from the movie "Snatch", because it's a wicked movie. Generally this name is available in most places, if it's not, I go with my Chinese name.

Army lingo from my days defending Norwegian sovereignty (sp?) and making Serbs and Albanians behave.

The brightest of you will see which unit it's short for!

Long story short - it all goes back to character names and my interests over the years.

Here is the long story.

Mine goes into two directions. The first is that through my role playing days, I have always been fond of the name Phoenyx (with the variation spelling). As things developed, I needed to add a last name (or first) to make the name more real to the characters I used.

Also from my role playing days (Top Secret), I had created an organization (fictionally mind you) known as RAT Force - the Russian American Task Force. This was back in the 80s and always stuck with me. Even during my beta testing days of Command & Conquer Sole Survivor where I resurfaced the name RATForce. So RAT has always been a part of my persona.

Going back to coming up with a last name for Phoenyx - I wanted something that also carried the rat persona as well. So using some trends from fantasy names and the sort, I combined rat with myr (pronounced mir - but with the variation of myr like Phoenyx) and came up with Phoenyx Ratmyr. So for short, I use Ratmyr most of the time.

Maybe too much information - but definitely how it came about. For a short stint, I was simply known as RATLord - but that was getting old fast and seemed to be others using it as well. So when I came up with ratmyr - it stuck.

Years ago...

I was being harassed at a bar with some buddies of mine. This big fat **** was really wasted and kept calling me a pussy, probably because of my long hair. It went on & on, and I didn't do anything about it. My friends just wanted to leave, but I didn't think that was fair. I turned around and asked his buddies if they could just get him to chill out a little, and they all laughed at me.
Then he grabbed my shoulder, and I just went nuts on him. He fell backwards onto the floor and I just kept beating the living shit right out of him. It was like an outter body experience, like I was looking down on myself all high on adrenoline. Eventually people pulled me off him and they threw me out of the bar, but I heard people cheering. It must've looked funny as hell, this scrawny little long haired geek on top of a tall fat bully beating the piss out of his face!
We got the hell out of there quick after that.
I often wonder how that would've went down if he wasn't so drunk he could hardly stand up.

Anyway, those same friends started calling me "The Psycho Pussy From Hell", and each time they got drunk & told the story, it would include another fictional character that I beat the hell out of along with the fatty.

I've used this name for years, ever since I started playing Team Fortress Classic.

I used to use a browser called Neoplanet because it was easily skinned so I liked that. When I needed a name I thought "Neoslash" sounded good and I thought of that because of the browser. A few years later Matrix came out and it forever ruined the name.

last name shortened plus time = paztime. Al little bit cocky I know, especially considering that anyone in these forums could own me in basically any FPS.

Also liked the alternate meaning; peace (spanish) time
