Hypersonic - Questionable Service

I had ordered a CX7 from them recently... CNET, places like this, etc all had pretty good reviews on them.. You'd figure that if CNET gave them a good review, its gotta be at least a semi decent place.

Then I went to
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2081.html
and got a very different picture.

I cancelled the order. I would reconsider ordering from these people. I'll fill you in with more details on my personal experience with them later.

Not sure what the problems were, but I would be glad to hear them. If there are any areas where we can improve our service to our customers, I would be glad to forward these to the customer care department.
In the future, please provide reasons why you cancelled and why you feel the way you do.

Pat,

My reasoning for cancelling was because of the poor reviews on resellerratings.com as well as certain things such as the poll in this very forum on hypersonic pc's reliability (which shows that over 50% of the people who voted in the poll have rated their laptop's reliability under 2/5).

Additionally, if you go to the better business bureau web site you will see that hypersonic-pc has 12 recently filed complaints, which is a bit high for such a small company.

Nothing personal, but I don't make a heckuva lot of money, so if Im going to drop 2000 bucks on a new laptop, I want to make sure that its going to be reliable, and that the people I am going to be dealing with are going to be reliable. Considering that there are laptop manufacturers who not only make the Clevo M570A laptops (same thing as your CX-7), but make them cheaper, and have a much higher reliability rating and no complaints at all with the BBB, I opted to cancel.

I do plan to post my experiences in dealing with you guys, but I have noticed that you like to play hard-ball. IE; you seem to enjoy trying to get away with some questionable activities, as long as that customer does not complain about it in any reviews or forums such as this. As soon as that customer does complain, you cave in and give them what they deserve. I've even heard of a couple cases where you attempt to bribe the customer to change their bad review to a good review.

All this said, I don't like seeing other people get ripped off like this either.

So, I will hold of on my personal complaints until I've been through the full experience with you. I don't want any negative reviews to affect the outcome of my experience. I hope you understand.

I talked with Pat privately and my money was refunded. Thank you Pat.

To summarize my experience:

I made an order this past friday for an Aviator CX-7. Briefly afterwards, I happened on resellerratings.com and checked the BBB. This made me decide to cancel my order (within half an hour of the purchase). No money had been taken from my account as yet. I cancelled the order around 10:30am on friday over the phone. It showed up as being cancelled on the web page.

Saturday at around 11:30 my account was charged. I called up Monday and asked about this, and they said it would be refunded by the end of the day. I went home, noticed a message from their billing person and gave her a call back. She asked me why I had cancelled my order, and I explained that I just didnt have the cash for it. (I was trying to be nice.. It was really because of the warning signals that went off when I read the BBB and resellerrattings.com info). She mentioned that 'normally' they charge a fee for cash refunds, but that she would make an exception since this was my first order. I was only aware of their two day rule, where if you cancel an order before two business days is up, you don't get charged any fees. Considering I cancelled my order well before I would have been charged, I was slightly irked at the comment, but didnt say anything. I then asked if the money would still be refunded on monday and she said that she would refund the cash to my account while we were on the phone.

Come tuesday morning, the cash was still not deposited back into my account... I ended up posting on these forums, and Pat caught it.. He PMed me and asked me for the order number, I gave it to him and explained the situation and it looks like the money was refunded right away.

I will leave you to formulate your own opinions...
