M6811 x64 pci driver problems

I just did a fresh install of Windows x64 onto my eMachines M6811 notebook and all of the drivers went in smoothly except one. The VIA 4in1 drivers for some reason wont install properly. I've tried the one from eMachines (VIA_Hyperion%204in1_v456v.zip), and every x64 hyperion variety from viaarena.com. No matter which I try the "PCI Simple Communications Controller" listed in my device manager doesn't install.

I have tried using the 00F07P00 bios and the 00F08P00- neither make a difference in this case.

Any Ideas?

-gost~

BTW i should note that my release of x64 included support for the broadcomm wi-fi which is working flawlessly (as far as its capable...)

Thanks for the quick reply, just saw it on another forum too. Feeling a bit dumb today. There is one other question I have though, is there only one brand of modem in the 11's? I've seen conexant drivers and smart link drivers and can't really tell from my laptop which I have.

in general, only the M6805 and the M6807 (the two models when this machine first debuted) have the SmartLink Modem. everything else in the line in general has a Conexant modem

Followup to the 4in1 driver installation problem also ... Those (VIA_Hyperion%204in1_v456v.zip) are 32-bit drivers and thus will not install on x64.
