Well I have a 34" Panasonic CRT HDTV only can do 1080 no 720p if I buy a dvi to hdmi cord will it produce a good picture in 1080i or will it downconvert to 480i..... ???? Also can our laptops with a gig ram and a 7800 go run 1080P/1080i WMV-HD with no problems?

Anyone got pics of there laptop on a HDTV?

Will the HDMI cable transfer sound also ?????? Or is it video only

From what I know HDMI-to-HDMI will transfer audio at least from DISH HD DVR to a Toshiba and JVC TV's as for DVI-to-HDMI I would have to say that it won't but I'll research it.

and what would be native 1080 in res for my laptop what should I set the laptop at when I hook it up?

DVI-D transfers uncompressed digital video in its native format between source and display or between components.
If you read all of this webpage it shows nothing about audio through DVI.

I'm going to hook it up when I get it just for fun, I doubt I'll use it very often but might as well I guess. haha

I just found out the res for 1080i is 1920x1080 I guess I won't be running games on my hdtv, also does our video cards even run at that res????

NVIDIA'S website says the GO 7800 GTX supports 2048X1536 @ 85Hz, so I'm not sure on the GO 7800, is it the same or no?

Afaik HDMI and DVI is practically the same, the difference is that HDMI transfers both audio and video, DVI is only video. Picture-quality-wise there should be no difference.

I cant believe how great a lil package the 9400 is.. heck its even cheaper than a dedicated 1920x1200 LCD panel! (even though its only 17 inch)
