Best keyboard and mouse for laptop?

Okay here's the deal. I've got my laptop (which I love, huge thanks to ISTNC) and now I need to spec it out. I posted a while ago and many responses were had to all but the keyboard. I took the advice of most people and got the PCMCIA Audigy, a 160gb external HDD so far and my next investment will be a keyboard and mouse.

So my question is: Which WIRELESS keyboard and mouse combo is the best for your money? It needs to be relatively cheap but not bad. One key feature I NEED is a mouse charger cradle that usually doubles as the reciever. bascially anything else is a bouns.

Thanks guys

P.S. does anyone know of any good USB port replicators and where to get them?

Does your notebook have bluetooth?

I know you wanted to go the wireless route, however I purchased the Logitech G5 and it is amazing!!! Now I saw in PC gamer a few days ago that they have somthing very similar to this corded usb mouse in wireless format... I love the G5 mouse... excellent choice...

Wireless mice are redundant to me, I went with the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse with 1600 DPI and up to five DPI switch modes. Can't get better than that. Even new laser mice have less DPI than that a lot of the time.

As for the keys, I don't know. I use the board my notebook came with.

mmmm fair enough. Bear in mind I have played with wireless mice before (cheap ones too) and I havn't notices anything of a difference. Mostly because my normal mouse is a cheap coded one there probably on par with most wireless ones. My laptop doesn't have BT unfortunately and I wold also prefer a mouse and keyboard combo to save money. These will just sit at my gaiming space while my laptop's there and never hardly get moved.

Thanks

I have the logitech one with the cradle (the name escapes me at the moment) and I love it. Its not the bluetooth one or anything and should be relatively inexpensive as I paid $99 for the combo over 2 years ago. The keybaord is great, I think i've only changed the batteries like 4 times. The mouse has a great feel to it and is very responsive. Weeks that I don't game too much the charge in the mouse lasts about 5 days or so. With intensive gaming that drops to around 3 days or so.

for wired: G15 keyboard and G5 mouse
for wireless/bluetooth: MX5000 desktop or dinovo laser, or G7 mouse and laptop keyboard.

Hmm... i feel that the Logitech diNovo is a very gd set of wireless keyboard and mouse, but its very expensive... not too sure of other alternatives..

anyway, i would recommend u the Belkin 7-port USB2 hub..

i'm using one above... not too sure abt the price in US though...

If you go wired, the G5 is amazing! It has a DPI switching button which comes in handy during games... if you can master it.... Its a great mouse... Logitech makes good stuff...

If you plan on carrying that mouse anywhere, I'd recommend the Logitech V500. My boss liked it so much, he took it from me and told me to expense it.

It's small,
very sleek and stylish
4-way IR scroll (like on a touchpad)
the dongle fits in the chassis,
fairly solid alloy chassis,
tracks like a formula F1 race car even on those terrible plastic Dell mousepads
I've had it 6 months and haven't had to replace the original batteries yet.

I use a Dell USB Keyboard and D-View / D-Port set at desk, along with a Bluetooth IntelliMouse that I just love.

Got it from; Netdirectbargains is located in Aurora Colorado, We are Platinum Powersellers on Ebay

For a lot less than $50 delivered to my door, it is very portable, runs full time for seven weeks on 42ยข worth of AA's or three weeks plus on NiMH rechargables.

It is molded for right-hand comfort, has the 'extra' buttons and is fast, smooth and accurate with no lag unless it has sat unused for over eight minutes.

yeah bear in mind though Pilotart that the D-view/D-port is dell specific so no help to me as I have a Quanta MW1. The port replicator I can go without, I'll just get one form ISTNC soon.

Labmouse: I don't intend on carrying the mouse anywhere, it will sit at home with my keyboard and wait until my laptop returns.... but by that note wired sould be fine... HMMMM.

Did not see that before My suggestion of Bluetooth IntelliMouse woul work if you have Bluetooth or you could use the BT Dongle that ships with them.

But, for your use at your desk only, I would stick with the wired gear anyway.
