Google software on your Dell?

Good news for us or just more bloatware to get rid of?

"According to the Wall Street Journal, quoting sources close to the matter, Google would pay Dell $1 billion over three years for the rights to place its software as the default applications on new Dell computers."

ok, That would just PISS ME OFF! The Google CRAP PAK is just that... CRAP. only one good app in it (picasa) and that wont even be needed when Vista hits. Whats the point? I am sick of all the googe this google that. all the Crapware that Dell forces on us is bad enough. I think Dell should make Google pay 3 times that amount to harass us!

I use gmail, and it's pretty nice. That's it though.

I purchased an I6000 in late December and it came with Google Toolbar and desktop search pre-installed. The default home page for IE was googe.com/dell something or other.

I always reinstall the OS on any Dell Machine to get rid of the crap. Makes the PC/laptop run better. Less blot when you start from Scratch.

I had to uninstall that to install some program, and it's not like I was gonna use it anyways. If I wanted to do a Google search, I would press Ctrl+Alt+M and type my subject in the Google search bar.
