Linux on 4080

Has anyone installed Linux on a 4080?
Knoppix 3.2 (not 3.3 which has hyperthreading problems unless you disable HT) installs fine on the hard drive but has some problems with hardware such as the NIC. It doesn't have these problems when run from the CD, just from the hard drive install. Anyway, I'm not the biggest Knoppix fan. Has anyone successfully gotten another distro (other than Slackware or Gentoo) to work on the 4080s?

Tronbot installed Gentoo on his: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=13662 . Its not much of a beginner but since it works, things like Mandrake and Redhat might/should work properly. (Sorry, not much of help here, )

As for the Knoppix, although HT is still not functioning, 3.3 19/11/2003 does not have any issues and actually boots fine without any extra options - a big improvement over 3.3. of September.
