I have the SXGA screen and it's kind of dime while I am unplugged. Is there anything I can do about it?

yes.. first to change it perminantly, you have to do that in BIOS. If you need more info on that ask. For one time adjustment, you just press the Fn key and then the up arrow. There should be an onscreen display that shows you the brightness level. But remember, the higher the brightness, the more it will eat your battery time.
