More games now that apple is using intel chips?

Anyone else think that there will be more games released on Mac now that the switchover to intel chips is happening? I think it would be much easier to program for both platforms now that it's only a matter of different operating systems. Much easier then reprograming for different architectures I would think.

sure...... if they run on OS X

If developers are willing to take the time to port it to Mac's, then yes we'll see more games. But, we'll also need to see a larger Mac user base, so a company can see profits, rather than losses.

well we should also ask ourselves. how many games are out there for linux?

Not for a yer or so yet. 99% of all Macs are PPC. Once games are intel only binaries, it will make the process much easier though.

Universal Binary will speed things along as well.

What you should really be rooting for is someone to make an implementation of the CLR for the Mac.

historically speaking, UNIX (and BSD, and Linux) has NOT been a gaming OS, so i doubt much will change in the near future.

UniBins actually add to the work level. With anything that accesses the videocard, you still have to deal with the byte swaping issues on the PowerPC side in addition to a little extra work for the intel processors.

I meant speed it along as at least two completely separate versions won't be needed.
