As far as a range increase what are you looking at? I have an old 3com AP that I'm not ready to give up. It has 2 stock antenna. Would giving it 2x 9dbi antenna give me more signal on the first floor of my home?

Before, I was using the stock Dlink 5dbi before & had some drops in a few places. I live in an older home.....pretty solid walls. I installed the 9dbi & no matter where I go, I get excellent reception as does my lady-friend.

I set up Wireless Networks for small businesses. I buy all of my product here:

http://www.wirelessnetworkproducts.com/

My prefered router is the Linksys WRT54GL which I use Sveasoft firmware on.

www.sveasoft.com

The firmware boots the gain by up to 900%. Plus if you wanted to set up a Mesh network the firmware will do that also.
