Sorry for the late response. With the snow this weekend, I was out with the kids. Didn't do much online time at all.

Congrats on the system and looking forward to seein more about it.

I do agree with chode - the longer warranty is important.

Is the warranty extendable after receiving the machine? I ordered a CX7 this weekend as well, with the same (1 yr) warranty. With Dell, I was always told that as long as I called them before my warranty period was up, I could extend the warranty period. Granted, I eventually decided I didn't need it (I only ever needed minor repairs... hinges, fans), but it was nice to know I could.

In any case, I can't wait to get my hands on this thing!

Says it's already built, but not shipping 'til the 27th. Hmm.

im not sure exactly, but i think it costs extra over the original purchase, and/or you have to send it back to be inspected. if you just got it or maybe if it is still under warranty, then they probably wont give you to hard of a time. best thing would be to call of customer services/pm pat, and see what they can do for ya.

I actually e-mailed Hypersonic about the warranty extension. This is what I got back:

At the moment we do not offer customers to purchase extended warranties after they purchase the system. You will only be able to purchase this at the moment you place in your order.

Now that I think about it...maybe they thought I was asking if you can purchase a warranty after ordering the pc, instead of extending the warranty...

I called sales and they said I could not add a extended warranty after purchase. So I upgraded mine to the 2 year (all I can afford at this time) looking into buying a house or condo so I have to keep a budget. My ship date is 2/27/06: Now the waiting game begins!!

Hmm. Mine too. Out of curiosity, does your order show as "Built/Testing" already? I'm just wondering if there's any hope I might get this earlier than expected, as mine showed up as "Built" yesterday.
Pat can correct me if I am wrong, but the built/testing phase is an all encompassing phase that includes the building, receiving and installation of parts, paint job (if purchased and then the obvious curing of the paint), benchmarking and then the reload of the system prior to shipping.

It does seem confusing (as I felt the same way when I ordered the three of mine) and I did a lot of refreshing of their page looking for a change in status. But that said, I wouldn't expect it earlier. 2 weeks does seem about normal and you have a holiday in between (not sure if Hypersonic is off that day or not).

Glad to see you upgraded splurch34. I wasn't sure if you can purchase it from them, but I wouldn't want to take a risk. Sometimes, a good year burn-in is what's needed.

Good luck to both of you and looking forward to reading your reviews.

Yeah Tsed mine says Built stage too. Ratmyr I will write a review as soon as I have it. I am having it shipped to work so I do not have to wait anymore time than necessary to get it (LOL)!

I know that feeling. I think for my GX7, I actually called in sick for the day it was supposed to arrive. And for the EX7, I was off that week. Funny - both of them came near my birthday. The CX7 was the only out-of-cycle system.

Be nice to the Hypersonic website. Refreshes ties it up.

if you call up hyper, they normally tell you what they are doing and any possible delays. I.E. rarer/more expensive hdds, graphics cards and cpus. also, they normally will tell you when they will ship it out if they are currently doing a burn in and everything is a-ok. also, i believe that if you review hyper on reseller ratings, they give you some gear. i got a pen, tshirt and hat. not sure if they still due it though. ratmyr should know
post #16 of 18
Heh, well, I'd feel pretty pitiful calling to find the status just a couple of days after I placed the order.

But good to know, anyway.

The gift pack is still valid and also from here as well. In fact, when I got the CX7, I tested it and it worked - Yippee. No hat though - but I have the one I bought a year or so ago.

Reviews are important for many reasons - but one in particular. You always know about bad experiences, because it is a good way to vent. However, there are a lot of individuals who have had positive experiences, but once they get their laptop - they move on. So there is always an imbalance. This is not just for Hypersonic - but all vendors.

But in any case - cm made some very good points as well - thanks!

i simply dont understand why people buy a 760 processer when you can a 745 pinn modded to better results at a cheeper price. certainly a nice rig but , i think my next ones gonna be either a pentium m or a amd based system my pentium 670 sucks.
