Dell Inspiron 1100 screen problem

The computer was unusable due to virus infections. So I used the supplied CD to reinstall windows. Now it is great except for the screen is only 1/3 of the total size. with large black/unused area all around. I have went into settings and tried to adjust the reso. but it just messes up the colors. basically it is stuck at 600x400 16 bit. I have searched the driver CD supplied and I only can fing intel extream graphics wich also does not work. I am completly stumped. there are several drivers missing. VGA, Ethernet, Audio, and I think modem. now of course I did not write down what hard ware it was before the reformat. SO any Ideas?

{could I get this moved to dell support, I completly missed it}

just call up dell and they'll repair it in a jiffy. they are pretty good with that stuff. do you still have an invoice of your purchase? that could help in obtaining ur information, but it could be a serious problem. wormor hydra in ur mobo bios? they are out there. there are some virus's that even hide in your video card

Really there are Virus's that hide in the video Card?

yeah there is also one that rewrites your video card and mother board bios's with corrupted data.

no invoice but it still has the DELL applied number stickers. but I am sure it's out of warranty. Will they still help?
