On http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2756 is an article about sending in you screen to a company that specializes in notebook lcds called ScreenTek, http://www.screentekinc.com, which can upgrade the screen in a laptop to a new compatible model.
The company can also upgrade a matte screen to a glossy by removing the old polarizer and applying a new one that is of glossy type in a clean room. Details of this is descibed on the companies website.
My question is simply if anyone has any experience in upgrading an old matte display to a new glossy one through changing the polarizer? I am thinking about sending in my laptop for an upgrade to a glossy screen (not a total screen change, just polarizer change), but I have no idea of which results that can be expected?
The article linked above is only testing a total screen change.
