CyberP's AW Adventure (and initial review !) Aurora m7700 fx-57 - Page 5

wow after reading about your troubles with your laptop they sound a LOT like mine! I don't have the time to mess with my computer anymore... and it was like yours, had the problems straight from the box. I am calling customer support today to tell them I want my money back. I would still get another AW computer.. or accept a replacement... but I'm not spending any more time working on it! good luck with your computer!

adonia, I would give them at least a chance before bailing out yet... These system as touchy as they are, are really neat and distinctive systems. I still feel they are worth the trouble. Have you tried to PM one of the alien guys ? they will help if you ask for it. Well anyway whatever you do it's been nice hanging and sharing our trials... good luck in anything you do (even non-computer persuits!)

OK, after some events last night I'm REALLY REALLY sure it's not the DJ and fortunately AlienSteve has me back on the repair trail again. (Fingers crossed again) These guys at AW are really trying to take care of me so I'm ready for the next round. I hope they talk to that tech in TN over that sloppy job he did. I can't blame the whole company for one lazy slacker ! I bet they talk to him pretty good I hope he realizes whom he pissed off. well anyway My computer is on it's way back to the mothership ....

If attitude counts, you're going to end up with a prince of a machine, CyberP !!!! Good Luck - wishing you the best.

Hey CyberP!

My system docked with the mothership yesterday I've got to admit that even though it is poxy that our systems were defective, in my experience, AW UK has been doing its best to help out. Before choosing AW I shopped around here in Germany and didn't find anywhere that offered better guarantee conditions and I'm glad I'm not lumped with paying courier fees as some were offering. Other companies were promising 2 week turnaround + freight time which isn't far off what AW estimated today. The CS mobs have definitely tried to do the right thing by me and the European techs that I have spoken to so far do seem to know their shite.

Fingers crossed eh CyberP

I am very hopeful that you get a working system back to you. Anyway, where did they have your system sent to ? I am guessing I drew a bad card when I got the service tech guy that I got. I am glad someone is got some hope and is sticking it out. After talking around here Things can an do get better. after all it's just a machine. ( although a very exspensive one ! )

It's not over until the fat lady sings................ (old proverb ?)

I must be feeling better I'm finding myself quoting old movies again.

Captain Steven Hiller: "I ain't heard no fat lady!" (Indepenence Day)

I agree with Capt Hiller on this one.........

(appropriate movie quote, since I have suspicions that the Alienware founders got their idea from that movie on what the name of their company was going to be)

I have had increasing "periods" of insanity. and a bit of "why me". A lot of lost sleep (notice the time on post) But, I got a taste of what the system can do. I can't argue with that. My thing is that I want an alienWare system and I'll put up with some mistakes (people can and do make them) along the way. It's just when each mistake costs a month it becomes a pretty big deal. Technically, they have made two mistakes, one is they potentially missed some anomoly if final testing of my machine, and they put some bozo to work on my system who felt he did not have to listen to anyone else who had done all the ground work for him (can't totally blame AW for that, but they need to take care of him before he costs them more sales, not everyone is forgiving as me). Anyway, my system has reached Miami (according to FEDEX). I wonder how long it will take to get the system back. This time I have alienSteve on my side. I'm assured by him that I will get back a totally working system. I feel very good about this round

Glad you are being taken care of and have AlienSteve on your side. I'm sure it will be what you had a taste of again soon. I seen you edited (so I deleted quote), dam I was starting to think you had a bit of a mean streak, dark side to you, j/k. Good luck man, we all pull for you.

It's kinda like David Banner / Hulk.......

like say to David Banner's face... "David Banner I slashed your tires !" -Family Guy quote.

I felt real bad about it. (The ps I retracted) "I guess the Hulk came out to play"

Don't worry about it, CyberP. A) there hasn't been that much activity in the forum, and B) you deserve a bit of a rant based on what you have put up with.

Hang in there...
I was just messing with you CyberP. If anybody deservers to rant a bit I would think it would be you.

No trouble................ I have seen some serious ranting from people in my situation. I don't think I have been that bad, even in my worst. I don't think I seen any posts after one of these people were helped to see if their tone changed any, as I have been trying to stay out of most of them right now as not to panic myself any more than I already am. I'm betting that the worst ranting people have trouble getting AW to listen to them if they are yelling at them on the phone and the internet.

Good point, I don't think anyone wants to help someone that is just yelling at them. It's not like it's their fault. Being polite will most likely get you better service than taking the other route. I do hope you the best, not sure I could stay as calm as you if it was happening to me (but if it does I have a roll model). Best of luck.

Good of you to share. It is a beauty. And I thoroughly enjoyed the "conversation" at the bottom of the pic. It always helps to have a sense of humor in tough times.
