replace screen in 8887

i came home today to find out that my daughter decided to use my laptop as a seat and now my screen does not work. Any idea on the cost to replace the screen? can the screen be purchased and i install it myself ( i have a few freinds who can hanle the task and i would like to spend as little as possible) any ideas anyone???????

You might try googling the part number. I saw an Ebay store that had numerous screen available, including the elusive 16" SXGA+. At least she didn't wash it with the dishes.
